Help!!! OMG, we just got the rescue Yorkie, Monty :) . He's the sweetest little thing, BUT. Tucker is absolutely TERRIFIED OF HIM!! Tucker is usually so outgoing and playful, even with our labs! Monty's now chased him around the house and hes so scared, now hes sitting in the living room huddled behind my dad while Monty's running around the house just wanting to play! I really like Monty, but I love my Tucker! I want them to get along, what do we do!?!?!?!?!?!? |
I know what you mean. I brought Lipstik last weekend and General Patton would run away each time she came over to him. One week later, things have changed. Now they play together. Try to engage them into play activities, but never try to force Tucker to play with the new yorkie. Give them to time to become acquainted with one another. Now they are bosom buddies, hehe. And she loves Bella(my bigger and older Smooth fox terrier) Good Luck. Keep as posted. |
Thanks for the help, Tucker is very scared tho, like growling, and they get into big chasing. I hope it works out!!!! |
I'd try putting some toys on the floor and getting down on the floor with them, and see if you can get them to play together. Just a thought. |
Try not to change however you would handle Tucker before you got Monty. They pick up all kinds of messages from us in our tones, any change with them. Feed them at the same time so Tucker doesn't feel left out. I haven't followed your story as much as when I got Lipstik, as I have been busy this week, hehe. So, I don't know much about Monty. You should see Lipstik(who is very small) compared to Patton. It has been a progression every day seeing them together more each day. The first two days they couldn't be near the other. Patton would get on the chaise pillow where she couldn't jump. Now, the two of them are playing tug of war with a toy. It is fun to see them play. Each day they play with more confidence. It is amazing! You'll be so pleased when you see progress with your furbabies. |
