Pee trained but not #2 trained? Well my yorkie has only had a bowel movement twice since Tuesday night, the first time was Wednesday morning when I had a Dr appointment and left her for about 1.5 hours and she had poopied in that time. The 2nd time was just now she had gotten a few treats for going up and down the stairs for the first time after we had just gotten in from a potty walk (no poopies then, though). She had gone onto the back porch that is screened in (there is a dog/cat door) and pooped there. Why does she hold her pee in until we go for walks but not #2? She's never peed in the house, though. She does it almost every time we go for walks. |
Sorry for double posting, just wanted to give a little update. I seen she did #2 in the house again and I took it and put it outside where she's supposed to 'go', and she ignored it. I don't know if she even saw it. I tried putting her near it but that didn't work, she's just too interested in other surroundings. Should I keep on doing that? Putting the #2 outside and try to get her to see it so she might know she does that outside? I don't know what else we can try.. |
I'm having a VERY similar problem, so I hope someone has a good answer! |
I have the same problem. Mine are paper trained but seem to forget where the paper is! One will figure it out and then the other will forget. So frustating...help! |
I just wanted to add a funny thing that happened with my pee pads for athena! She was in another room with her daddy and our danes were out and my big 170 lb male decided to try to pee ON the pee pad! Mercy! It easily was a huge mess! |

I'll keep updated on whether or not this continues. I'm not sure if she just doesn't know how to tell me she has to poopie, or if she's just confused on where she does it. It's possible maybe she's just picky on where she poos and I don't wait long enough? I mean we're usually outside at least 10 minutes if not longer at a time. I try to make a couple short trips, and a couple longer ones. |
Well, needless to say it did not continue. She pooped on the lanai (screened in back porch) again today as opposed to outside. I still think she is confused that the lanai is not 'outside' for potties. Her previous home they were let outside the back to go potty in the back yard. Maybe she is confused that the doggy door is for use of potty? We have this door for the cats originally. |
same problem we have this problem too - she pees on the pad (sometimes!) but doesn't seem to get that she's supposed to poop there too. What to do? |
Hi I have the same problem! my guy pees outside, but saves his poop for inside! C'mon all you veteran yorkie owners! Can't you help us???? |
