Why does our yorkie pee her bed? Why does our yorkie pee her bed! How can we combat this? |
How old is she? You might have to keep her off the bed and in a crate beside your bed for a while. with a pee pad . If she is really little she might not be able to hold it all night. |
or she's just lazy, she has her pee pad in her private bathroom and usually goes there, we caught her going under our bed, then she got in trouble and we sprayed it with parfume now she doesnt go there *so far*, same thing happened in the office, cleaned up the mess, and perfumed it up n now she doesnt go there either she has her place in the office, a hello kitty rug about 50 cm by 40 cm and she just peed on it, yesterday same deal... how can we get her not to pee on it and walk to her bathroom which is about 10 feet away and pee there like usual?? and not only sometimes when miss lil fuzz ball feels like doing so |
I still dont know how old she is. You said she peed on her hello kitty rug.? Is that good or bad cause I dont have a clue what that is. I still think you should confine her at night if she insists on going in your bed or under.or around it etc. Hopefully others will be coming on board to advise you. I am not sure I have the right answers for you. |
She is a baby that is not housebroken. Dogs are not lazy  She just doesn't know. You have to keep her confined to hard surface and limited her space. It could take up to a year to train her completely. |
She is surely not able to make the difference between the Hello Kitty rug and the pee pad . |
She needs more confinement in a small area with her pee pad. You may also consider trying the crate-training method of housebreaking. Is this new and unusual behavior for her? Sometimes peeing in strange places can be a sign of illness. I had a yorkie-mix many years ago that used to pee under my bed. She is the only dog I have ever owned that did this. It used to drive me mad. She peed other places as well but under my bed was her favorite as I suppose she felt she was hiding it from me. After many months of this and thinking it was a housebreaking issue I took her to the vet for a check up. Turns out she had bladder stones and she was unable to hold her urine. I felt terrible for her all that time suffering. I don't believe that your dog is lazy, she either needs more training or she needs a check up. Yorkies can be tough to housebreak but don't give up! |
Please keep in mind, an area rug looks very much to a untrained yorkie like a pee pad. It may be a different color, pattern etc but all the same ---a pee pad.:D My two youngest pups were brought up in an x pen on a tile floor (breeder) with pee pads. At my house we don't have pee pads on the floor. I am training them to go outside. Every once in awhile, I'll catch one trying to squat on my area mats in the kitchen (tile floor) Ahhh, looks like a "pretty" pee pad!:p |
