Moving Playpen/pee pads ? I have my 5 month old puppy's playpen in a room where he can see everything and I can see him. I don't leave him in the playpen when I'm home unless I'm sleeping and he is pretty good about going on his pee pad when I'm not around. I think he's shy when it comes to pottying so I want to move the playpen to a back bedroom so he feels free to do his duty in private. If I move it after he's been in the same place since I got him 2 months ago, will he still do as well or will I have to start from scratch? I know it's all about consistency but if I can see him when he wants to potty, he'll find somewhere else to go in the house. |
Gee if you move him to where he cant see everything from where he could see everything you might have some problems. He might not like being in the pen and cry etc to get out a lot to get back out where he was .There dogs are SO sensitive to changes I have always found.A major change can upset them. I am no expert but I think he should get used to you seeing him go potty and if you give him a treat for going he wont mind at all. Maybe you will have to move him in a gradual way to another area instead of just from here to there kind of thing. Anyway I hope this helps. You will get lots of good advice on here .:) |
