Pee Pad regression So, my fiance and his dog have moved in with the girls and I. The girls love him a lot, especially Holly. Since they moved in, Holly has forgotten (or chose to forget) how to use her pee pads. She pees and poops on the sofa, my bed and anywhere else the mood strikes her. When I get up in the morning I take her directly to her pad and make her stay there until she goes. I have to work during the day. I confine her to the living room which is where her pee pad is. Sometimes she uses it, sometimes she doesn't. Any suggestions on how to manage this problem? Do I start over from square one or keep her confined to the living room all of the time in hopes she will start using her pad more consistently as she gets used to all of the changes? No problems with Gracie at all, just Holly. We will be boarding both girls while we leave town for the wedding. I'm hoping the potty breaks there at the pet hotel will assist me with the potty training refresher. Any suggestions? Thanks so much for the help. |
Hi I am no expert but I would confine her more if she is going on your couch or bed etc. I had a yorkie many years ago that used my house as a toilet for a very long time.It is a hard habit to break once they start. Maybe you could block her in the kitchen? There would be only her pee pad on the floor instead of the rug and couch .Hopefully she is just doing this because of the changes going on with another dog and another person coming into the picture. Maybe she is marking? A lot of good advice probably better than mine is on the way:)Good luck with her. Just wondering how you know which one is doing the mess if you are at work and leave them in the living room?:) |
