Litter box trained but smells So my yorkie is litterbox trained but it smells. Especially since my room is really small and his litter is in there with us. Is there anything that I can put in it to help with the smell like baking soda? Walmart sells a product for dog litter boxes but I'm not sure what ingredients are used in it. |
Sydney would only chew on the litter for dogs and try to eat it. It's made out of paper products. I would suggest using an absorbent wee wee pad. When she goes number 2, pick up the pad and flush the number 2 down the toilet if the pad isn't badly soiled and your dog will still use it. |
I've used pee pads before but now that Bender is bigger as soon as he pees it smells a lot stronger than when he pees on the litter. So I usually end up throwing it away once every day or two. Also, trying to lessen the impact that plastic has on the environment is also another reason why I'm trying not to use the pads. I could use the biodegradable ones but they cost so much. |
There's also the reusable pads that you wash. I know of people who use these and like them. |
Kirby: Isn't there someone on this site who sells the reusable pads? I thought I ran across that a while ago, but can't find the thread now! If you know off the top of your head, I'd certainly appreciate knowing who that is! Thanks! |
I did a search and found this thread. I hope it helps (and that I'm posting the link correctly.) http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/gen...uppy-pads.html |
I can custom make you pads to fit in your litter box if you would like. See the link in my signature. |
Kirby: Thanks for finding that thread...that's the one I saw before. Thanks so much for your help! Quote:
