potty pad misses Hello Everyone, I have a 3month old boy, he is being potty trained on the wizdog pad. When we are there he does ok sometimes misses the pad depending on his aim :) but if we are sitting there watching him he will go directly to the pad, pee and poop:thumbup:. But if we do not watch him or are not home he seems to go anywehre in the bathroom he wants . We do give him praise when we are watching and sometimes a treat. Is he not going on the pad on purpose or do you think he is still learning where to go. I am trying to make sure I am doing the potty training as correct as possible with him:dalmation |
hi! :woof:i have a yorkie too , she's a girl and she is almost 1 year old . i trained her in her tray as we dont have a yard , we have a roof but its upstairs and i thought it would be too difficult for her. in the biggining she use to do the same thing as yours but i use to tell her almost 3 times a day toliet - tray and i use to get her the treats and show them to her so she would know that if she does in the tray she will have a treat . she took some time to learn she was maybe 4 months or so when she was doing it right. hope i helped abit ! :):aimeeyork:animal36:animal-pa:wavey: |
Hi swt maya, I hope he does catch on like your girl does. He stays in my extra bathroom downstairs. When i am there with him I do not have to tell him he goes right on the wizdog and goes. I give him praise treats, then once he is done i remove the baby gate and he gets to go out in the hallway for play. but when we are at work & sometimes not watching him its like he goes when he feels like it :( i clean it up as soon as we get home with the natures micracle spray. Not sure what else I can do other than install cameras in the bathroom :). But thank you for the advice |
if he is already lifting his leg to pee.... You can take a 2 liter bottle, put sand in it so it doesn't topple over, wrap an old towel around it, secure it with duct tape and put it on the piddle pad. He will enjoy lifting his leg onto the bottle, and maybe quit using your baseboard. |
Yes he is starting to lift his leg...I did read that some people use a fire hydrant I went on line and they were too much...But I will try the soda bottle tonight thank you for the idea |
