Marking My yorkie is 1 year old. He's potty trained but is marking--and he was neutrered as soon as the vet said he was old enough. I'm considering getting belly bands (because he's very sneaky about the marking!). I hate to think he'd have to wear one for life. Would it be crazy of me to think that maybe if wears a band for a while (2 months-6 months) he might forget about the marking? Is it possible he won't even try to mark with the band on? ANY SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE APPRECIATED. (P.S. I bought Nature's Miracle to clean up the "hot spots.") |
He might not try to mark with it on. My Chachi doesnt but he only has it on when we go to someplace like Petsmart. Is he neutered? That helps sometimes too |
Baron still marks and he is neutered. I was wearing Belly Bands on him, But, he was diagnosed as having Pancreatitis and it hurts him to have the pressure on his belly. So, I'm back to a house blanketed in puppy pads and watching him like a hawk. Also, My 8 y.o. Papillion has started to mark too since Baron is marking. Sammy is neutered also. I put belly bands on Sammy and he wiggles out of it every time... No more male dogs @ my house!!!:thumbdown |
I thought I wrote that my Yorkie was neutered, but yes, he was, as soon as he was old enough. Now he's a year and still marking. My biggest question was if anyone thinks that wearing the belly band for a while will "train" him not to mark? If not, how do you train a dog not to do that? I don't want him to have to wear the band forever. |
