Someone Help!!!!!!! My puppy will be seven months this month and she no longer uses her poddy pad. She used to use them all the time. She was very good at one point but now she uses it in various places around the house. What can I do? |
crate train All I have to say is Crate Train. My puppy was so stubborn he woudn't even go on the puppy pad but with much patience, it'll work. |
Wow. That's weird. Exact same thing happened with my dog at 6.5 months. She was so easy to train and was doing so well, then...pee everywhere, out of the blue. I literally tried everything but nothing worked. Finally after months of frustrationsI now take her outside every 4 hours and since I started this routine she hasn't had one accident in the house. It was a relief. Lot's of going up and down 3 flights of stairs but it's worth it. And I get a mini workout too...:) |
We recently have encountered the same problem with my 7 mo old puppy. I had him neutered about three weeks ago and he has totally regressed with his potty training ever since. He used to use the doggie door regularly for his business, but now he just goes wherever he pleases in the house. It's almost as if he's just too lazy to walk the extra feet to go outside. Maybe he's punishing me for "punishing" him. It's very frustrating though.:( |

This is my exact experience!! Capone was doing pretty well in the house, but then he became to "hit or miss" for me and I decided to save my carpet and furniture by taking him outside. It really isn't as bad as you may think. It was frustrating the first couple weeks to make him realize he was outside to use the bathroom, but after that he hasn't had any accidents in the house. I would crate him take him out, if he didn't use it back to crate for 30 min. and if he used it he got play time inside. He caught on very quickly and I was wished I did that from the beginning. |
I think the best thing to do would be crate her and start over like she is a 12 week old puppy that is all you can do is start back at square one and refresh her. Females are bad about doing this with housetraing it is wired but good luck.:aimeeyork |
Have you try just restricting her to a smaller area? I've had to do that with Duke when he was smaller and make sure there are 1 or 2 pads in there to train them all over again. The crate idea is great but in my case, I work 9-5 so couldn't crate train and had to use the pads. |
Joey had a set back at 7 months too, but he was neutered around then, has she been spayed recently? Also, I discovered Joey likes washable pee pads much better. |
