HELP!!! She keeps peeing all over the house! I am in need of some serious advice! Baylee our 19 week old female keeps peeing all over! She pees on people when she is excited, she pees on the couch, She even will pee on the comforter on our bed! She was doing so good and now she is regressing at an alarming rate! Is there anything we can do? We are going to start putting her in her crate at night again. She was doing so good we let her stay in the bed with us. But now that she keeps peeing on the bed there is no way she is sleeping in it until we get this under control. Any advice or answers would be greatly appreciated! / Sarah, Matt and Baylee |
You need to make sure that you use an enzyme cleaner such as Nature's Miracle wherever she has an accident....even on your bedding. She needs to be in a crate/ex-pen whenever you are not able to keep a sharp eye on her. As for peeing on people, guess I would classify that as excitement peeing. I have one that is 2 yrs. old and I always tell people to ignore him or he will piddle. Getting excited over the puppy or bending over a doggie will also cause them to pee. This is JMO. Good luck. ~Joanne~ |
You may also want to rule out a urinary tract infection. That can cause animals to potty in odd spots even if they were trained before to go outside. |
I agree Natures Miracle is a good product. With four buggers now I could use a barrel. |

If she doesn't have an infection, it's back to Potty Training 101. |
I too need help. My little 9 month old is still not potty trained. We got him when he was 6 months old and the previous owner let him pee all over the house. So in short, did not train him at all. He also poops everywhere since I don't know when he has to poop. When I am home, I take him to his pen by his pad every 3 hours, after a hard play with his brothers or if we come home from a short trip. He is fine with that. It's just that he does not know to go to the pads or the area where he is supposed to pee. He is also not neutered yet and is very hyper as he always wants to play with his brothers. Could it be he is too distracted? He also pee'ed and pooped on our bed 2x, and he was really scared when he did that, he used to do it in his crate but not anymore, but he will also pee on my clothes if they happen to be on the floor. Why does he do that? Please help..... |
Yoshimax, I know when we got our Yorkie, we didn't know if he was housebroke or not. He was advertised as a 5 mth pup and is just over a year old per the vet. We figured that out really quick when we saw his teeth. But i use the same word every time I take him out - potty. And when he pees or poops outside, he gets a treat. We take him quite often. I guess if you don't have a place to take him outside and have to use the indoor pads, then you might try the same technique. Also, you might try once per hour instead of every 3 hours. At least until he gets the idea. When he does his potty bs where he is supposed to, give him a treat. Smokie responds very well to the treats in all aspects of training him. Good luck! |
Crate, crate, crate. Leash him to your belt when uncrated--then there is no sneaking. Can't watch him every second? Crate. I took a week off of work to train our puppy. Housebroken in 3-5 days. |
