Jackson has been awesome outside without a leash lately. I always give him a chance to run without the leash and he stays right by our side, doesn't go far, he hasn't ran down to the farm with the horses in a while... just wanted to update. :) He chased around a butterfly but once it was up too high, he gave up, and came right back to me, lol. |

We've been teaching our dogs the command "Stay Close", as that is what my father-in-law used to teach his springer. We only let Buster & Bailey off leash at my in-laws house because they are not close to traffic, and Buster & Bailey pretty much just follow Billy (the springer) around since they adore him! I have a really hard time letting them off leash because they don't always listen to me & I'm petrified of what could happen to them if they took off. I won't let them off leash unless my husband is there, because they will always stop for him. If my "COME!" command doesn't work, I usually end up making some crazy noise & they will then turn around & come running back to me trying to figure out what I'm doing - otherwise, I tell my husband he better get the dogs back ASAP & he calls them & they come...go figure! |
