Clicker Training? I've just read about "Clicker Training". Has anyone here tried it? How well did it work? Any resources? I just signed Chewey up for a more advanced training class to get us prepared for the CGC test, and it's "clicker training". Seems like a neat method, but I'm also unsure how to bring Chewey into it... |
i've done it. but not like classes. i read about it and thats how i started training him from the begginning. i bought a clicker from petco. i started training him to sit and everything. whenever he did somethin good i clicked it. he loved the sound. so when i told him to do something he'd do it. i guess thats pretty much how it works...at least thats how it worked for me, lol. good luck!!! |
How far did you take your training? |
I'm a big clicker-training fan! So far, I've used it to teach Joey (who is 4 months old) eye contact when his name is called, sit, down, touch a target, get your toy, and "bang, you're dead". Currently, I'm introducing "settle" with the clicker. He's also learned come, wait, and we're working on "leave it", but I'm not using the clicker for those commands. The site below (that you mentioned in another post) is one of the best I've found: http://www.clickersolutions.com/arti....htm#behaviors Happy Clicking! |
love the clicker training ... it really works and you can eventually fade it out ... i no longer use the clicker ... he listens now by my voice :) :D but i will continue to use it if i were to introduce new tricks and stuff :) |
