I'm losing hope Has anyone else had this problem? My yorkie, Hooley, was completely train to pee and poop on the pads. Then, maybe 2 months ago, he started pooping on the rug (he's a year old). I've tried everything - I keep changing the pads so they are clean, and I put out 3 large pads so there's enough room, and I reward him if he gets it right and scold him if he gets it wrong. What more can I do? I can't watch him every second, although if I catch him doing the poopy dance I scoop him up and put him on the pad. I can't find any solutions to this problem. Help!! |
Hang in there! We all feel hopeless with the potty training thing at some point. Maybe someone else will have some suggestions. I think just consistency and LOTS of patience is key. :) |
Try a veterinary grade odor remover, something super powerful. If he smells even the faintest trace that poo was there, you are sunk. Also, I have read that dogs prefer to do it on a soft surface...perhaps adding something like a chunk of sample shag carpet underneath will help? How often does your dog poo? How often do you walk your lil' smeller? |
