Fresh meat or Biscuits? Yes I spoilt Buddy by giving him chicken etc, I am trying to get him to start eating biscuits instead, hes 10 months old. Whilst on a walk in the morning directly after having a poo he will eat biscuits, I give him some on the floor and he wolfs them down, give them him at home and not interested. Yesterday I put biscuits out for his tea, he has not touched them, everyone keeps saying to me, when he is hungry enough he will eat them, but how long do I leave it? |
Meat only... My doggy trainer said to give fresh meat only. Biscuits and treats are generally not healthy for your dog...so spoil away! Just give tiny portions. I buy chicken breast just for the dogs...lol! The trainer buys all kinds of fresh meat and cuts it in tiny pieces...whatever is on sale at the store is what she buys and cuts little pieces for the week... |
Don't know if it's the language difference, but when you say biscuits do you mean kibble or also known as dry dog food? If I give Joey to much meat he will ignore his kibble, so now I just give him a tiny shed as a treat. Kibble has many things in it besides protein that they need. If by biscuits you mean what Americans call biscuits, a flour and fat dough mixture with baking powder, I wouldn't give him any of those. I think your husband is correct, he will eat when he's hungry. I would leave it 12 hours and then put out fresh. Some people take it away after an hour or even less, and don't give any new for 12 hours. |
Biscuits is probably like Kibble, we use Bakers complete which has everything, he eats this outside the house but wont touch it inside the house, very strange, but I think I will have to go back to chicken breast and beef mince, I believe pork is not good for them. Fresh meat now is so expensive England, but I will be trailing the bargain isles from now on |
