'wait' command? i tell milu to 'wait' all the time. but i am not sure if i am doing the right thing or if i am confusing her? i tell her wait when: i need to leave her in the car. i can't give her a treat just yet after she goes potty on the pee pads. she wants a toy or treat on the table or where ever she can't get to, and wants me to get it for her. she wants up on the couch or bed to sleep she wants off the couch or bed. i basically say 'wait' when i need her to wait, but i am not sure if this is confusing to a dog since every situation i described is different, or if it makes perfect sense to her? |
This is a pretty easy one to correct esp if she is food or treat conscious - meaning if she loves treats or not with her treats get her to sit or do whatever trick she knows but before you give her the treat have her wait .... with the prompt ...WAIT..... and lengthen the time each time before you give her the treat |
