Potty training decision I need help to make a very important decision. I have been putting June's pee pads in her pen and she has playtime attached to the front of the pen while she can still go inside the pen. But, the potty training isn't progressing. She has accidents in her pen now as well as outside. I clean everywhere with an Oxy solution so that the smell is gone. She pees in the general area of the pad, but very rarely on it. When she was younger, I would take her to a pad and wait until she did something, but after the first time (which was successful), she just lay down and went to sleep if I put her on the pad outside. My question is this: should I just continue what I am doing or should I try something else? I can't help but wonder what I am doing wrong. I wasn't very successful with potty training Cash, so I am really anxious to get it right this time around. She was reared on newspaper for pottying by her breeder, so I do put newspaper on top of the pad. She is a little over four months old and she has been with me for over two months. Should I just be patient even though she is digressing or should I maybe try just putting newspaper on the floor of her whole pen and then gradually make it smaller or maybe a litter box with sand? Please help, I don't know what to do anymore. |
