At my wits end!!! Miss Malli is almost a year old and she still is not house broken! I have tried everything I can think of to train her and nothing seems to work...She has her spots which is either in my walk in closet or in my daughters room in front of her entertainment center...I do not know what to do for this all I can say is Thank Heavens for Simple Solution I would hate to imagine what my house would smell like without it! She only does it when we are not home and I tried crate training her but she cried and whimpered so much that after just 2 days she had no bark she had made herself go hoarse!!! If anyone out there has experienced similar problems and has a solution I would LOVE to know what they are! Please Help!!! |
When you are not home could you put her in the kitchen or a xpen, maybe she doesnt like to be in a crate.. I leave mine in the kitchen with a gate pee pad, toys and bed... do you have a area you could put her in with a gate or xpen that woud keep her away from your daughters room and your closet? |
i feel for you i have a little yorkie pom girl thats almost 7 we had her first and didnt know how to house break we added some more yorkies when she was 3 or 4 i guess and they are crate trained from the begining... the little girl she barked for a long time, days when i put her in there but with in a week she was willingly going in there when we left the house..BUT you cant stop because we did that and know its back to square one she runs and hides when she thinks we are going to crate her and she is a real barker. she yipes when ever she thinks you are walking towards the door, keys move she is barking. really be firm on the crate training and im telling you after a week of feel bad for my crying she will be more comfortable with it |
Perhaps you have already tried this but just in case.. when you see her go in your closet... give her a stern NO,NO and take her outside and show her the grass. With mine, in the past, I would tell them pipi outside, point to the grass, repeated a few times in a stern voice. Later when I would take her outside, I would tell her to go pipi, they learn to go on command.. once she goes, I would tell her good girl pipi, pipi outside, immediately gave her a treat, so she gets, aaahh, if I go outside I get a treat, if I go inside I get an upset mommy. I also put 2 jingle bells on a key ring attached to a cut leash on the back door. Now they just ring it to let me know they have to go outside. Lexie my youngest one, knows to go outside, but I do leave a fabric pee pad for her, for a just in case. Since your furbaby is having these accidents I would not give her the run of the house, but leave them in an xpen while you're not home or a gated area with a pi pad. Good luck. |
I really like the idea of the bell...how did you train your babies with that? If she is going to be penned up she must be in a kennel b/c she has such seperation anxiety that she eats stuff you would never imagine her eating...even when I think ok everything she could possible eat is put up..but I may also try the xpen in the kitchen |
