Music for Puppy Chill-Out Lucy has had a slightly manic morning, rushing about and barking at any tiny sound - 'defending her castle'. As I've been trying really hard to concentrate on some legal paperwork, it occured to me that if I put on some music, she'd be less likely to hear all those little noises. I'm playing a CD of Mozart's Requiem Mass ... and within moments, Lucy chilled right out ... like magic. She's sleeping here on the floor on my office. (Mind you, I'm on YT, rather than doing my paperwork - but can't have everything!) Anyone else find that their yorkies chill when music is playing? |

Interesting .... I would like to find out if its actually the music or the filtering out of the other sounds that excite her that make her more calm |
I suspect it's the music. I've been trying different kinds of music, to see what happens to her mood, and it does differ. For example, she most definitely does not like the more 'self-pitying' tracks on my DH's country CDs (sorry if that upsets any country fans - but Lucy simply lies and whinges!) I'm going to keep trying this, to see if I can find CDs suitable for a range of situations - perhaps Wagner's 'Ride of the Valkyries' to accompany her crazy half hour? |
