Bed Wetting I've seen this topic before on here, and it says a lot about proper crate training, but I'm doing all of that- very by the book. I'm here during the day, my mother takes evening shift and we're both here at night. The longest he's left alone is at night, from 10PM- 1AM (check on him, sometimes potty break) then 2AM- 7AM. We've washed his bedding and blankets so they don't smell like urine. But he just keeps wetting his bed. Not just on the other side of the crate, he actually tinkles on the blanket. Sometimes he moves to a dry spot, sometimes he just stays there and I have to give him a bath in the morning. This seems to be a pretty common occurrence, what did you do? |
How old is he is this something new, could he have a uti or something |
hmm have you tried using the wee wee pad with the potty training aid spray? |
It's sounds like maybe his crate is too big? He should not be able to pee in one corner and sleep in another. It seems that a number of yorkie pups do soil their crates. The best advice I've seen is to suck it up and CONSTANTLY monitor, taking them out every hour until they stop (hopefully pretty soon). How old is your pup? |
He's about 5 months old now. He started doing this about 3 weeks ago. It's not every night, just maybe 3 times a week. I will have to check on the UTI. He does have a wee wee pad, but I haven't tried the spray, I'll look into it. I don't think his crate is too big because sometimes he'll lay in his own urine, like he doesn't notice it. You're right I think we will start having to monitor more, but I don't want this to get to the point where we can't keep his water bowl in there at night. Thanks for the responses and if you guys think of anything else, let me know. |
