Yorkie poop training Hello. I need advice for my yorkie, her name is Bella. Bella pees on the potty pad, but she poops everywhere else! I considered taking her outside to use the bathroom, but where I live, it is either always cold or extremely hot (I'm worried about the heat on her paws). I am worried about her being chilled or too hot. She's about 13 weeks right now, and she's already afraid to go outside. Any advice? Thanks! |

I'm having the exact same problem! When we do go outside Kya thinks its play time and won't do anything. She always pees on the pads, but honestly hasn't pooped there once! I'm getting so discouraged! |
Hi .....I was having the same problem...and somewhat still am. What I done was bought a fairly large storage container(Rubbermaid) Make sure its as clear as possible, just so your puppie can see you. I lined the bottom with half newspaper and the other half puppy pad. As soon as Lucky wakes or I feel he is looking to go potty I put him in his tub!! He usually only takes a few minutes but he goes there in his tub!! Make sure you keep watch because as soon as he goes potty, take him out and praise him with a treat!! After awhile your baby will catch on to the routine! It was hard at first but it only took a day and now he is getting the hang of it!! He still sometimes has accidents around the house but that's expected....Lucky is only 13 weeks also! Just make sure the tub is bright(almost see through).....high enough sides so that he cannot jump out....and always fresh for his next time!! Oh and if possible .....when you put him in there try to stay close by......so he can see that he wasn't just dropped there....lol Hope this works as well for you as it is for me!! Lucky's mommy |
To train a puppy to pads...you need to confine her in an xpen...cover the entire area with pads. Gradually reduce the number of pads within the pen. Pay attention to the times she is pooping ....it will help a great deal if you know when she usually eliminates so you can get her on the pad. |
