Schatzie can give unconditional love, the sweetest puppy kisses, joy and laughter, she can make my bad days disapear, she can tolerate me dressing her up and wear crooked top knot bows and the best trick of all is she can be the only one in the morning who wakes up in a good mood! :D Oh yeah, she can sit, lay down, stay, leave it, and go to her bed when asked. ;) |
good one Good point Schatzie's mom! The first tricks listed are the best that any yorkie can offer! My Baby always does a great job of doing them as well! :D |
Higgins is pretty good at stay, and is 90% at coming when called, which is pretty good for a Yorkie boy. Much too energetic to sit, though. However, when it comes to Frisbee, he is an ace! He has to "kill" the little disc first by shaking it well. Then we tell him to "drop it and back off." It is so cute to see him back right up. Then we tell him to "stay", and he will stay stock still while we wave the disc in front of his nose, and even touch his face with it. The second we say "Okay!" he lunges for the disc and grabs it! Loves this game of "control." Then we throw the disc for him and he leaps into the air and catches it about 80% of the time, doing elaborate twists and somersaults high up off the ground. Really magnificent to see! When he is successful in catching it -- and only then -- he does a "victory lap" around two campsites at warp speed with everyone cheering him on. It really is soooooo cute. He will do this until we all drop, so we break it up into three or four smaller sessions through the day, with a nice long one at night so he will sleep. All the athletics have given him ROCK HARD muscles which his vet is thrilled to see. Says it will protect him from many injuries and that he has never seen a Yorkie in such good physical condition. Now you would think I would learn a thing or two here....... Oh well, at least I get some exercise bending over and throwing and clapping my hands at his antics.....and patting him and hugging him.....and walking him....... Geeeeez, I love that little dog! |
