HELP WITH BITING please
 

I think I've almost got the barking down pat...but now I need help with BITING !! I've got Romo almost every teething toy under the book (he's only 10 weeks old so I understand he's teething) but it seems like he's biting when he's playing rather than just teething...His teeth are really sharp and it's starting to hurt! I don't want to scold him but if I say "NO BITE", or clamp his mouth down gently with my hand, or put a toy that he can actually chew in his mouth he still wants to bite! What can I do ???

Biting with a puppy is relatively easy to stop
and they all do it
Puppies love to chew and playfight
its how they learn .... in the wild if a pup bites too hard
another pup will YELP!
If you yell EH! .... or NO! very loud
and then pull your hands away They will get the message

But the hard part for most people is the next part
You have to stop all interaction
That means getting up and leaving the pup alone
No more playing no scolding ... just leaving him be

Mine is still biting at four months
 

The vet said she will grow out of it by seven months. I have several things that work for a while....EH! and distracting her with a toy and so on but she always returns to the biting. Maybe it is something she has to grow out of???:animal-pa

We purchased some dental chews at the Vet and it really helped when Maddie
was teething.

Hey I have had alot of problems with biting with my male yorkie Buddy.
I had tried everything. I tell you what finally worked for me but you have to be consistent and I still have to do this but he is so much better.

We have to put him in the bathroom for about 15 minutes but don't get him out until he has hushed whining. I promise you this does work.

I thought Buddy wouldn't ever leave us alone with this biting thing.
He would bite us when we would come into the room all the time.
You couldn't even play with him without him biting you. It was so horrible.
We couldn't even enjoy him.

I was putting him in the pet pen in the living room when he bites and leaving the room or not paying him any attention but I didn't realize he
wasn't getting it because we would put him in their at other times as well
so he wasn't understanding he was in their for punishment. But the bathroom in the dark. He finally gets it......Praise the Lord!

Like I said we still have times with him but it isn't as bad. I am praying he
will eventually get the message all the time and we will not have to put him in there ever again one day.......WE CAN HOPE!!!! Right.

Always put them in their when they bite and you say no and they continue......do it immediately and say NO BITE when you put him or her
in the bathroom.
