Kinda Frustrated I am getting super frustrated with the potty training issue with Noelle. I know/have heard that Yorkies can be hard to train and she does okay about 60% of the time, but sometimes she will go in the house. She will hide because she knows that she shouldn't be doing it. She will go in a corner or a room and then she will go running clear across the house and go curl up and hide somewhere because she knows she was naughty. She will get really nervous when you get near where her accident was because she knows that she will get in trouble. She gets it but she doesn't!!! Any help???? |
No help sorry, but I do feel your pain. Pebbles does fairly well like you said 60% of the time and then she is playing and all of a sudden forgets herself and goes, she knows right away she is in trouble and runs away. I take her and say no sternly and then put her outside. She is only 13 weeks so I am hopping she will eventually get it. I think by the time she gets trained I will need to rip out our carpeting:mad: But we love them. |
^ Oh wow, yeah, 13 weeks that is definitely to be expected. She sounds like she's doing good for 13 weeks. Do you keep her confined? Don't let her pee on your carpet - keep in a kitchen area confined or an x-pen type thing until she is more trusted. Free roam and they're definitely gonna go all over the place. |
awwww:(....pls don't get toooo Frustrated. She's just a Baby & it does sound like she knows she's not suppose to.:( Bella was not hard at all to potty train, she is puppy pad trained. While they are babies & until they are trained, it's so easy to let them have large areas to roam & to be with us, but it's not safe for them at all and really confuses them. My suggestions would be: Keep her in small area....gated off or in expen, playpen until she's trained. She will learn when all her things are in one place...she will know it's her things. Do not scold, but PRAISE, PRAISE, PRAISE 'every time' she uses potty pad. Treats for good behavior again with PRAISE. I find with Bella that she really learns quickly with Schedule & things she's learned, just like children. Repetition & Praise along with isolated area just for her, is the key, in my opinion. I wish you the very Best. It will get better! Keep us posted about Noelle. She really wants to please you.;) |
She is now 8 months old and I've had her for 5 months, I guess thats why I'm getting frustrated. :(. |
