Fidgeting I'm a first-time poster! And have a question...or need advice. My little guy, Maximus, is 4 months and 1 week old. He is a fidgety little guy whenever I'm holding him and people are approaching us to say hello- out of excitement. He also fidgets when other people hold him- again, out of excitement...he fidgets right out of their grasp and would fall to the ground if I wasn't there to act as a "net". Is this because he's still a puppy. Will he calm down? |
lexi does the same thing, i would like to know the answer too. i think that they are growing out of their puppy stages and dont want to be held |
I think it's probably just part of being a puppy. I agree that they just don't want to be held that much (at least some of them don't) at that age. You'll probably see a difference in another month or so. :) |
My Jewels is the same way and she is 6 months old. She just doesnt like anyone else to hold her. She wants me to hold her all the time. |
Nugget is the same way, she's 5 months old. I'm hoping she will calm down as she matures. My Missy Munch (deceased) never did grow out of it, she just did not like to be held unless she was sick or hurt. Turbo (my male) would be on cloud 9 if I held him 24/7. I don't allow anyone to hold Nugget and won't until she settles down some. I'd hate for anything to happen and have someone feel guilty about it. |
They have the Squirmies... Sophie does that too...I think its just the puppy in them still.... ;) I know that her Mom and Dad are very calm and sweet....so they must grow out of this at some point...lol :D |

Gucci does the same thing and she is 14 mts.old she gets very excited when people are outside or someone comes in she doesnt stay still....I guess its just their personalities... Good luck! Gina :) |
Maybe it's how they're being held, or if they trust the people holding them? Baby yorkies still have to build up the trust and realize that when they're being held, it's out of love, protection, etc. and not because people are out to capture them. |
Welcome to YT! First of all welcome to YT! You're gonna love this site! It's so helpful! I would't worry too much about all the hyperness/ fidgeting. Harley's about 6 months old and he's just a huge bundle of energy. I'm pretty sure they will probably grow out of it a little bit but some of it is just part of their personalities. They just have so much love in them that they don't know any other way to show it! So they wiggle wiggle and act like total goobers! Good luck w/ your baby! |
