He is not biting, he is just playing too rough. This can happen if a puppy is taken from it's mother too young, before it has learned how to play nice. When he plays rto rough, nip at him as his mother would and remove your son. until he calms down. When he figures out that no one will play with him he will learn to play nice. Just act as his mother and respond to him in a language that he understands. a growl and a nip ( a quick pinch) in the neck with your fingers. They do not understand words or time outs, they understand body language and instant responses. |
ok i will try that to it won't hurt.thank you |
What I have always done is make a high pitched "ouch" sound like the yelp of a puppy. These teaches them they are biting too hard. He's just playing and doesn't know it hurts and this will get your point across. I do it even if they are not biting hard as it eventually will teach them not to bite you at all. |
Oooh... don't let the puppy chase or nip at your 3 year old even once that has to be a severe No-no in any dog's house biting and stalking behavior has to be met with a LOUD NO! or EH! loud enough to stop the dog in it's tracks when a dog stalks and when a dog play-bites it's focused on something You have to break that focus Then all attention stops Don't talk to the dog .... don't scold it That will only reinforce the biting behavior Bad attention is always better to them than no attention at all |
