Is this normal? Romey will be 6months on April 1st and the only command he knows it stay...Is that normal? I have been tryin to teach him sit but hes not catching on to it, Im not dog trainer so I would love anyones opinion on the best way to teach him commands |
Hi I am no expert put I have a few pointers. pebbles is 12 weeks and knows how to sit and knows down. It takes about 10 min a day and if you have time for more in a day that's good but not more than 10 min at a time. When you want your baby to sit hold the treat just above her nose and pull treat back until she sits say yes and give treat. For down take the treat and tell her down from a sitting position and then bring the treat down to the floor when she is down say yes and give treat and continue. There are a lot of website that show how to train as well. I hope this helps a bit. |

If you can get a six month old puppy to stay you certainly can get him to sit sitting is fairly easy actually to train a dog to do hold a treat in your fingertips... and hold it out to him have him stay so he doesn't jump up and then curl your hand upward as you tell him to sit this movement forces their head up and encourages them into a sitting position |
Jackson is 5mths and knows sit, stay, down, come, shake, high-five, bang bang (play dead) and roll over. lol. I practice every night with him usually for ten-fifteen minutes tops. I'm awful at directions but this site is very helpful- Dog Tricks! Shake, Crawl, Beg, Kiss, Roll Over, Bow, and more! |
