Agressive furbaby don't know what to do. :( Hi this is my second time posting on this, and I kind of don't know what to do now. Today as the first day that she's actually been fully aggressive which is basically biting back, and pulling her wee wee pad back against her bed. I don't want to punish her but I really don't know what to do anymore. She's constantly bouncing around her pen, and being vocal and barking, and biting and I'm scared she doesn't love me anymore it's weird so any type of help would be much appreciated. |
Aggressive behavior Don't take this the wrong way, I am new at this too! But it sounds like you have to be a strong pack leader, from the words of Cesar...excercise her really good and be firm. You can use a water bottle or make sure you keep a leash on her and slightly pull it to the side when she does something you don't like. Most importantly you must lead her and not the other way around. when she bites, give her a firm NO, and walk away, no more play time...of course she still loves you, you're her mom, but if it continues, she will start to think she's your mom. I'm sure other experienced moms can help you, but I think the most important thing is to exercise her to wear her out then use treats to discipline her and then use affection. :aimeeyork |
Yeah, I honestly think she just needed a nap, cause she actually went to sleep and woke up and gave me kisses and I gave her, her kong and let her chew on it and she was pretty perky. But i'm going to give it a try, and be firm and use my stern voice and hopefully it works, I've also tried turning her onto her back and saying no, it worked for a little while. But I'll try being the pack leader and see how it goes. |
agressive furbaby ok, so it sounds like you know what to do, Max is the same way when he's tired, just like a baby right?:) He will be 5 months on 04/07 and he goes thru stages, he'll be fine one minute and the next he just keeps biting me, I try the firm NO, replacing my fingers with toys, everything and he doesn't calm down until I put him in his crate! he doesn't fuss or bark... he just walk right in and lay down...Is this your first puppy? |
Tatyana has been way aggressive but I am potty training so she spends a lot of time on her wee pads. I just tried the firm no and she listened! yay. And she laid down so I think that works, I don't want to be mean to her cause bah she gives me those eyes and it breaks my heart a little. |
Oh and yes, she is my first baby, haha so I'm trying to get use to the whole taking care of a new puppy so far it's been smooth sailing with the occasional accident but she's handling her new surroundings really well honestly. |
You have a new puppy and they will at times get over excited and bark and bite it's part and parcel of being a puppy when this happens in a pack the alpha dog will put a quick stop to this by nipping the dog at the scruff of the neck I'm not telling you to bite your dog but you MUST like with a child make it known what behaviors you are willing to accept and what behaviors you are not and barking and biteing I'm suggesting you put high on the No list when she bites it's NO! and all play and attention stops barking if it becomes excessive similarly is stopped by getting their attention ... enough to get them to stop a NO BARK! or a clap of the hands a whistle even a water pistol can be used and it gets repeated everytime they begin barking again |
Good luck with your pups aggressiveness! I hope it gets better.. It is frustrating especially when you've never had a pup before. ... |
