Biting the walls..!! Help HI.. MY BABY IS NOT BITING THE WALLS OF MY ROOM AND FROM HIS PART OF THE HOUSE.. THE HALL OF ALL THE ROOMS.. HE SUDENLY STARTED BITING THE WOOD ON THE LOWER PART OF THE WALLS. I CAN'T MAKE HIM TO STOP. IM WATCHING HIM ALL THE TIME TO TELL HIM NOOO BUT HE SEEMS TO COME BACK AGAIN AND DO IT. ANY SUGGESTIONS?? |
Rub gel deorderant on any surface you don't want chewed. It will not hurt the paint nor woodwork. He may taste it...once...but he won't eat it. |
Try Grannick's bitter apple spray. Momo chewed some parts of the mouldings around the walls, wish I knew about this then... |
Awesome, both the above posters have excellent solutions for you. Try one, if it doesn't work, try the other. Or shoot, try 'em both at the same time. Keep in mind that wood will soak things up, so you may have to reapply frequently (like several times a day). Lauren & Nikko |
Is he teething? If he is, I am sure you know that he needs teething aids. Also, something else might be causing it. Sometimes puppies chew on different things because they are lacking specific things in their diet. Double check on his nutritional intake. Good luck. |
Dogs will also chew and be destructive like this if they are bored or don't get enough exercise... If you don't do this already, a nice long walk each day might help to cut back on the behavior. Lauren & Nikko |
thanks for your help but, his teeth already fall out. He walks 3 times a day for 15 minutes or more.. he seems to like the deodorant hahaha i paint the wood again.. any other home remedy for this?? |
Yeah, the deodorant only worked halfway decently for us (btw, it has to be an unscented antiperspirant deoderant - other scents added may make it taste better, and it's really the antiperspirant part of it that tastes bad and makes the tongue freaky tingly). Bitter apple spray has worked wonders for us though, and it's not that expensive, if that's why you're looking for a home remedy. I've heard you can also use crazy spicy pepper sauce stuff too, but I think I would be really hesitant to do that... that sounds like it could be painful, not just icky tasting. Lauren & Nikko |
