What should I do?? Hello everyone:wave4: so I've had my lil Toby for a week and he is doing pretty well with the potty training. When I tell him "Go Potty" he goes on his mat. But he won't poop on it. I really don't know what to do:confused: He just pooped in the living room(thank god all floors are tile), I took him made him smell it and said "NO" and put him on the mat. Now he is in his crate and will take him out in a few. I dont know if this is the right way of teaching him where to poop? I took him outside, he peed and when we came back about 20 mins later he pooped! I am very patient with him, I give him  for learning where to pee but I need help with the pooing part. Another question, he is 11 weeks old:animal36 and I am at home most of the time with him but when I go out I put him in his crate. Is this the right thing? Thanks!:cf57: |
Not the expert here, just a trainee like you, but I can tell you what we are doing just FYI. When Penny poops in the wrong place, we take her to the place she did it and say in a low, but nice voice, "Noooooo, not good." Then we pick up the poop with some TP and walk to the pad and put it there and tell her, "Gooood, poop on the pad!" Today we actually added giving her a treat when WE put it on the pad just so she might get the idea of poop on the pad means a treat. :lightbulb I can't say for sure this is why she pooped on the pad 2 out of 3 times today or not. Just in case that is why she suddenly started putting it on the pad, I thought I would post it here for you. By the way, she actually only got is "square on" the pad once, but she just pooped right on the edge of the pad again a few minutes ago. The time she didn't go on the pad was this morning when I thought she was on empty and let her follow me back to my bathroom. She squatted right next to the toilet I was cleaning. :D |
