Urine on my ceramic tile HELP!!! Hi again, So my whole apt is ceramic tile. Sounds easy right NO.... Roxy when she goes Pee she steps in it by mistake. So when she steps in it her paw is wet so she walks all over the house. Needless to say she gets urine all over the house and I try so hard to clean it up after but by the time I get to it it dried.. I mean I do it right away but its hard to spot wet spot sometimes... I need a cleaner to clean the WHOLE APT..... Every chance I get I brush with a brush cleaner to get the grout but my Jesus I think I'm going to end up messing up my grout and its an apt I live in :-( She does go on a weewee pad but when she is out of her yard she can't get to her pad... What should I do..... |
Well, I'm a little confused; doesn't she understand it's ok to go outside also? Perhaps you are giving her too big a run of the house, when we let Joey out of the play pen, he would just get a small part of the house, and a pee pad was close by, it doesn't sound like she has learned yet to seek out the pee pad, so confine her to a smaller area, and you can also put out several pee pads. Grout should be sealed yearly, that keeps urine from soaking into it. Some builders don't seal the grout because it has to be done 30 after tile is laid, you can tell if it needs it by pouring water on the grout if any sinks in, it needs to be cleaned and sealed. |
LOL, the grout line does get darker if the pee dries, I have a bottle of Clorox ( from Costco) and an old tooth brush, I just let it seat for a while and wipe with a wet mop, or just towel. You can also add vinegar to the water you use to mop your floors, it removes odors, disinfects, and shines , 3 in 1. Welcome to club!!!:) |
No she actually isn't trained to go outside just yet she is only 3 months so I'm waiting until it gets just a little bit warmer to start teaching her. Her area to play in is small but I mean when I'm home she isnt in her area I take her out to be with me.... One of the things that the trainer told us not to do is to keep wee wee pads all over the house because she can get confused as to where she should go.... When I throw water on the grout it doesn't stain but it does get darker like its seeking in... How does that work? Where can I get a sealer and what should I use to clean before I seal? |

Grout sealers can be found a home improvement stores or stores that sell tile. You have to clean the grout first with special cleaner as so it's doesn't leave a residue, and then just seal. It's really easy. Water beads up on sealed grout. |

Nancy1999 teach me how to eliminate my back is killing me cleaning up after her LOL!!!! I wish the weather was warmer in Jersey to take her out. Its just hard to do when she is left alone all day until 12 when I go to check on her and then when I come home at 430 from work. So I know I can't crate train her just yet... |

Lol, I wish I had the answer to that one. Some people use play pens or x pens so that they are confined to a fairly small place and the pee pad is within easy reach. I used the crate for overnight, and placed Joey on the pad, several times at night and took him outside in the morning, you can do this as the weather get nicer. |
Yeah thats what I do now. She only comes out of the pen when I'm home but sometimes she slips up and goes outside of the pen... I've become accustomed to waking every night to take her to pee and poop... I guess its a process. I know she loves the outside because every time I open the door she books for the door LMAO!!! |
