Any theories on why.... my dog does this? I recently moved- prior to moving she never had accidents and would always "hold it" until I took her out. Now, I take her out, stand around about 15 minutes while she sniffs around and doesn't go. Go inside where she proceeds to pee in my hallway. RIGHT AFTER I TAKE HER OUT.:thumbdown Is it because she is unfamiliar with the area? Or does she just like to make me mad? What do you think? |
She's leaving her calling card in the hallway :D ... and checking out the competition outside |

She should know better than to waste cards on existing clients;) I might give her to my husband for target practice. KIDDING. ...sortof:D |
Was this an existing home and not new construction? I would guess the previous owners had pets inside. When you take her out....don't stand there...walk around with her. Walking stimulates them to go....which may be the reason she comes inside and immediately goes. |

KIDDING. ...sortof You should get her her own stack  Seriously ... dogs use poop and pee as communication so what she is doing outside is finding out the lay of the land dogwise so to speak and she is likely peeing in the hallway because it's close to "where she lives" male dogs mark more than females but I think she is doing this because it's a new home |

I guess I am going to have to re-train her from scratch. What is the best way to discourage or "punish" her when she goes inside? Should I spank her, put her in the backyard, stick her on a potty pad, yell...? I hate punishing, I always make my husband do it! |
