Top Knot or Not How do you get your furbabies to keep their hairdo in? Miss Millie's hair is finally getting long enough for me to get an elastic or clip in it, but she won't leave it in. I have put a clip in it and it is across the room with one good shake. This is hilarious but it does nothing for her hair. So I gave up on those and turned to small, tangle proof elastics. She kept those in for a couple of days, until she figured out how to pull them out with her paw. Am I ever going to get to see her eyes or get her to wear a bow? What do you all do? What experiences have you all had with this? ~C:aimeeyork |
It is kinda like a kid! Be presisent! I use rubber bands. (on no!) Well they stay better and I don't see any harm to his hair! It will take a while, I guess. I got Nolee at 12 weeks. He did not like a bow, but the rubber band did not bother him. Just keep trying! It is kinda like with a girl and pony tails or barrets. At first, they will rebel, but after a while they will give up! Good luck!:animal-pa |
It takes time and patience. Mine will leave their own in, but take each others out. I put some up and some no, one of them cannot keep one in, ever, two have very long hair and it needs to be up. the rest don't have real long yet. |
Tiki fought her bows for the longest time but has gotten used to it now. At first she would do the same thing, but even if she wore it for a little while I would praise her & give her a treat. I use 2 of the little elastics (that sometimes I cut out with scissors so they don't hurt her). If its too tight, she still lets me know by trying to paw it out, but otherwise is doing good. Try patiently, and if anything, I always put the elastics in her hair and brush every day so that she became for accustomed to it. Later I added the bows on top and she's been good. BTW it took about 3 months consistently before she stopped trying to get the hair accessories out to chew on them. Good luck! |
