chewing the wee wee pad prince just started chewing up his wee wee pads in the past week.. he never did this b4 and besides it being unhealthy it causes a very big MESS.. i dont know what to do anymore! as soon as we take our eyes off him hes chewing it into pieces.. any reason why he would be doing this and how i could stop this behavior? btw hes almost 4 months |
Tyson was doing that too...we started to bring him outside and he prefers it and stopped chewing the pee pad. Maybe he just doesn't like it:s |
Penny got into doing that ...I bought a frame at Petsmart..holds them in place...... |
My boxer girl used to tear puppy pads to shreds when she was a baby. I bought this for her to hold the pads in place: ![]() Sometimes she would still get them out, but it happened a lot less. Good Luck! |
My puppy Rambo, is about 6 months and he was doing the same thing. I too bought a puppy pad holder frame from Petsmart & I love it. We usually give him the kitchen to play in while we are at work and he just pees & poops on the pad. But I noticed when we confine him in his playpen during the night, we would sometimes chewed on it. Maybe he is bored or stressed bc he is in his playpen. So we just give him a firm "no bite" and I will spray it with Bitter Yuck. |
that's why I use the washable pads. I have 2 who will chew up any kind of paper |
If you have any Bitter Apple spray, you can spray a little bit on the edges of the wee wee pads since they don't like the taste of it. That helped my pup when he started chewing the edges. Also, make sure he has enough toys that keep his attention to play with. |
we are going to try the pad holder tray.. im going to the store soon, hopefully this will fix our problem or at least lessen it . thanks:animal-pa |
My Piper started to shred and chew her wee wee pads. I went out and bought the frame that holds the pads. It didn't work. She would dig and scratch the pads until they came out of the frame then she would shred and chew them up. Then I tried putting newspaper in the frame. That worked for a few days but then again she figured out how to dig, shred and mutilate the newspaper. I gave up and trained her to go outside. She was housebroken within 2 weeks. She was about 5 months old at the time. |
