Caesar's methods work... I'm soooo proud! Since a few weeks I'was watching the 'dog wisperer' and tried to use his methods to manage my little gang of four. Before it was a hectic stressful time to get them ready for walkies with unbearable barking, jumping up, grawling and snapping at each other and leash chewing. Once outside they ran in all directions crocheting their leashes to 'gordian knots', dragging me around and barking at everything and everybody... Since I try to be 'calm and assertive' and use 'no talk, no eye contact and no affection' it got better by the day. We have no crazy chaos anymore when I get the leashes and harnesses and everydoggie waits until it's his/her turn. Today I was even able to walk Maggie off leash at the park!!!!! :) I'm sooooo proud of them now! Maximus, Mikki and Minnie walk nicely side by side without pulling and Maggie heads everything up on a retractable leash. Oh and Minnie learned yesterday how to roll over!!! Sorry that I just HAD to brag... :D |
I think I am going to need his book! I have 1 that is a bear to walk! |
Sonja, it sounds like you are going to be the next dog whisperer. I always love to hear about people using "doggie language" to turn their little one's attitude around. Give yourself a pat on the back - I'd love to see some videos of you and your gang. |

Hah! I've (literally) just ordered his bok from Amazon, so I hope to learn lots. |
We love the Dog Whisperer here, also. Sounds like it is working for your pack. :) |
That's awesome! Millan is the Man! Can you believe there is even a dog whisper Nintendo DS game?? IGN: Cesar Millan's The Dog Whisperer |
How Awesome! Congrats...I love Ceasar. |
That's awesome! Everytime I watch his show or Victoria Stillwell, I always sit there and say it makes perfect sense! It's really more about what we do and don't do with our pets and keeping it consistent! I'm glad it's working for all of you! |
The most awesome thing about Cesar and trainers who use those type methods is that they train YOU to train your dog. They take the mystery out of training and break things down into small components that we can understand and be successful with. |
Dog Whisper I have tried some of the stuff he has done and it works also but now reading the post I have a question. When I walk Bella (11-mts). she get all excited about walking she runs all over the place and runs to the door. She also walks all over the place I try not to make eye contact,Not saying a word but when we get back she jumps all over the other dogs and makes them upset. Now on the other hand Jack does fine. When its time to take off the harness she jumps and throws a fit when I take it off. HELP does this make sense? Thanks Cheryl:animal-pa |
That's great! I better get that book. My girls can get out of control with barking maybe he can help me on that. Is it better to get the video or book? |

Yes, a life time ago I bread horses and was a riding and driving teacher in Germany. I love those miniatures! Are they as unpredictable as most of the ponies like Shetland and Icelanders? I sure do have a healthy respect for them!!! |

Good for you:thumbup: It sounds like Ceaser came though once again. I love his show as well as Victora Stillwell. Ceaser has saved so many dogs that his methods just have to work. I have had success with several things he has taught me via TV. Brag all you want, you deserve a pat on the back for making your pack behave the way you want them too. Good job Mom. |
dog whisper Hey thanks I did not think of that. Jack who loves to walk I just say TO HIM do you want to go. and he goes to the hall where the harness is and leash. And he is quiet about the whole thing. Now Bella is different. I will try this this afternoon when we go. And I will leave the harness and leash on when we get back and take it off when she calms down. Don't know if I can ask this question here or not. but does anyone have a dog treadmill? and how does it work? Thanks I will let you know how this works Thanks Cheryl:animal-pa |
I LOVE watching Cesar and Victoria. I really want to learn their techniques. What is the first book ya'll would recommend? I am really having a time with Maximus and his biting. He can't just lay there and let you love on him. Also, I have a big dog outside that won't let any of the other dogs come to me without her sitting on my feet and bending her head back and nipping on my leg. |
