Pees, but wont poop on pad... Anyone know how I can correct this problem? My 5mos old girl will pee, but won't poop on her pee pad! I don't get it? |
If she is having accidents in one place consistently then you could try putting the puppy pad in that one place and she will eventually catch on. My boy yorkie did that for awhile, but I sealed off places where he could go and hide and poop. He then consistently had accidents in one place and I would just cover that area in puppy pads. Eventually he starting pooping where he peed. |
How many pee pads do you have out? When I first started pee pad training, I found out (the hard way) that putting many many many (almost covering the entire area) worked well. That way she'll have no choice but to poop on a pee pad. Then, gradually start taking one pee pad at a time away until you are down to one. I noticed that they dont like to poop and pee on the pad sometimes. Hope this helps!!! Good Luck!!! Love, Jenn |
Same problem here ..pees on the pad or outside ..runs like hell and poos in a corner and barks AFTERWARDS to let me know !! Have to watch him like a hawk ..I will say he has improved and he is now 9 mos old . Patience is my middle name . |

I had a baby like that once.. and he ended up being called pooh most of the time.. he would wake us or let us know he had to pp outside after he did a poop in the house.. he was well over a year old when he finally got it.. but I did not get upset due to him doing the pp our side.. the pooh a little easier to handle.. once he went outside he never went in the house.. I have a young male right now that never misses his pp pad.. but never poops on it neither..so again I too am dealing with the same issue.. anne |

Thanks for the suggestions! |
Im having the same problem too. Pee's on the pad but will not poop. But we just started pee pad training b/c he wasnt doing so well going outside being that he is so young I guess(totally new at this)So hopefully he'll catch on. The pads I use have adhesive strips and Jackson does well with not ripping them up. |
