UGH!!! Help with training!!! Sophie is now 5 months old.....she still does not make any effort to hold it!! Last night she was laying with me in bed. She just got up and peed. I have been reading alot about training. During the day is is crated. The crate is sectioned off to be smaller. She rarely has any accidents in there because she would have to lie in it after. When I get home from work she is either playing with me or in her play pen. I take her outside about 1x every hour and after all meals. She has accidents in the pen all the time. What am I doing wrong?????? |
We have two yorkies Our first yorkie, tico, would piss on you any chance he got, until he was over a year. Now we have Lilly, and because we learned alot, it seems like a breeze. The biggest thing, ive found, is to watch your puppy none stop and keep them contained to only one or two rooms. And I do mean non stop. If the puppy leaves the room, to room 2, you have to follow them. Even if you take your eye of the puppy for a few minutes, they could pee or poop that fast. The next trick is, when you catch them, I just say no, in an affirmative voice, and take the puppy to the area where its supposed to go, pee pad, or outside. And thats it. The rare few times that they pee on the pad or go outside, clap, say good dog, get really excited, and give them a treat. If you keep up this, they will get it. It might seem like they won't, but they will. Lilly is almost trained at 4 months. . We still only let her in two rooms, she still goes in the xpen when I cant watch her, we still take her water away at night, even though she is doing very good. |
