question for those of you with 2+ furbabies.. so i just got my baby madison last friday and she hasn't been trained yet to go on her potty pad. she'll be 12 weeks this week and we're trying to train her to go on the pad because thats where riley goes. i don't want him to fall a step back in potty training because he sees her going potty everywhere but the pad  so my question is.. how do you have your pads set up? do your babies use the same pad or different ones? if you use more than one are they right next to each other? & will maddie use the same mat that riley uses or does his scent make her want to pee somewhere else?! help!!!! |
Mine go on the same pad but some wont so I would put down 2 untill you see |
I'm not going to be of much help. I have 2 babies...one will use a pad or go outside and the other only goes outside. I do only keep one pad down at all times. If it has been used, she will not use it again. Good luck with whatever you decide to try. |
all 3 of mine go to the same pad. My youngest one was so easy since she just pretty much followed her big sisters and did what they did..lol |
My two babies I have two yorkies, and my second one had my first actually back track. He was trained to use the potty pad, but when he came here he wouldn't use the potty pad at all, but after we kept putting him outside with my little girl he learned to go outside. We still have accidents in the house, but now I am only cleaning up after him instead of the pair of them. Its just gonna take time to get them trained. You may need to lock your new baby in a certain area of the house where the potty pad is kept until it gets the idea, while letting it out for constant play. I locked both of mine up (they had the bedroom, laundry room, and bathroom to roam) for just three days and now my little man is doing so much better. Good luck!:D |
thanks! i have 2 side by side so it looks like a gigantic mat for riley because sometimes he goes right on the edge of one and ends up missing. i think this morning i saw madison go over there and i don't see any pee spots on the carpet so hopefully she went on the pad. |
I have two boys ... they are 14 wks and use the same pad Actually one uses the pad ... the other? Hit and Miss  |

The best way to prevent that is to not give her the opportunity to have an accident. I have three pups trained to the pads and outside, and they use the same one. I don't think his scent will detract her, quite the opposite. My two youngest had no problem sharing the pee parade (pad, lol) with their older sister. :) |
I have 4 and 2 go outside and 2 use the pads. The 2 that use the pads use the same pads. I have 2 washable pads next to each other and 2 disposable ones on top so the cloth ones catch any edge peeing. This is in my bedroom and then I have one of each in the front of the house. Cali was really well trained to the pee pads and when I got Pixie at 13 months not trained, Cali did regress some. |
Mine go on the same pad. I think the smell of Gracie there helped train Holly, but Holly is a year old and still makes mistakes. |
thanks everyone! i've made a little progress.. she's gone poopie on the pad and i think shes gone pee a few times. seems like she's been following riley over there hopefully she'll get the hint and start going peepee on the pad. |
