Help...My dog only poops in the house at night. I have a 2 yr old yorkie and we recently bought a new house and ordered a doggie door. I have found that she does really well all the time using the door BUT at night there is one certain spot in the house that she poops at. I have tried everything as far as disipline and praise and she still continues. She knows she did bad because she runs away when I go near that area. If I put her in the crate at night she will whine and I also love her sleeping with me. What do I do? |
Be sure to use an enzyme cleaner wherever your furbaby has an accident. They will always, always return to that spot unless the scent is out. You also might try to put a piddle pad at the spot. I use washable ones and love them. |
In the cold winter - we found that Bailey regressed in this area too. When its cold she likes to go poop in the dining room ( a room that we don't use). She's done it three times this year. Its not a matter of training - because she knows better; its a matter of convenience for her. So, we've learned to manage the situation. The baby gate stays up until she's had her bm for the day. Afterwards, it comes down and she has free run of the house. Good luck! |
Hi, am having the same trouble with our beautiful wee Morkie Alfie who is 15 months old. He is wonderful at toiletting during the day but has started pooing occasionally downstairs at night. Have used the enzyme spray but he then uses another spot. May have to resort to using the baby gate to keep him in our bedroom. Any other ideas anyone? |
