Washable potty pads I'm currently using disposable potty pads with Oliver. He does well on them but I'm thinking about switching to washables. Which one do you guys use...preferences?? And also..how often do you use the same pad until you wash it? Does it start smelling? And where would I get some good washables? |
My favorites are the ones from Personally Paws: Washable Puppy Training Pads | Whelping Pads | Pee Pads |Belly Bands - www.PersonallyPaws.com |
I use the disposable ones on the floor but I put the washable ones in the pen |
I use washable pads in my house. I have one in the upstairs bathroom and one in the downstairs bathroom. I save the disposable ones for when we go out or we go on vacation. I usually dont go more than two days before putting a fresh one down. I got my pee pads for free....i placed a posting on a free recycle website asking if anyone had any hospital pads (cause thats what they basically are) and someone emailed me a couple weeks later saying they had some. I was expecting a few..but she gave me 17 of them!! |
Has anyone attempted making their own washable pads? I'm thinking about trying it. It doesn't seem like it would be that hard. Any advise on types of materials to use? |
I use, make and sell washable potty pads. I would never go back to paper! They are really nice to use and no shredding!! |
Do you think he'll confuse the washable pads with his blanket that I keep in his crate and pee on that? |

I use blankets in the crates and none of mine pee on them. |
Bunni uses the Washable pads, my ex got them from Piddlepads.com, we got like 12 for $60 bucks. She wouldn't use the disposable ones, but I am training my new puppy Lily on the disposable pads, and eventually I'll have her go on the washables (when she's not so little). The guy at the petsmart told me if you want them to use the washables, and you've been using the disposables, the best way to do it is to put washables underneath the disposables so that they know that both are ok. |

When he was using the pads all the time I would wash them every 2 to 3 days, mine never got smelly in between washing them. |

oops he is 15.5 weeks... lost a week somewhere..:p |
I use washable pee pee pads from Little Bit (Blue Sky Yorkies), and I love them. They are great, and have lasted a very long time. My babies have not confused them with their beds, and I did use the disposable ones at first, but these are MUCH better. |
