Im such a PROUD mommy. I can't keep my joy to myself! It's not that big of a deal but I'm so excited. I feel progress! So I had to share.... Okay so I'm in the process of training Belle (who turned 10 weeks yesterday:D) to potty on her potty pads. She goes almost everytime as long as I remember to take her to the pad about every 2 hours. The problem is that I keep her pad in the bathroom UPSTAIRS since this is where she is during the day while im gone. It's a big tiled bathroom that I gate off. She can't climb the stairs, and even if she could I would be to afraid to let her so I was worried that I was going to have to "guess" for forever on when she had to go potty and take her up the stairs to go. Well a few hours ago I noticed Belle had gotten up the first step of the stairs and was sniffing around. I didn't think much of it and thought she was just exploring but took her up to her pad anyway. She pooped! Ten minutes ago, I was in the process of studying when I heard Belle yelping every once in a while. I get up and there's Belle sitting on the first step. This is when I got excited! I took her up to her pad and she peed! This is a HUGE step for us! I'm went crazy on Belle and did a happy dance and everything. :p She just looked at me like "What the heck is your problem:confused:" lol Sorry for the long post. :happyboun:happyboun |
Congratulations! How exciting for you and Belle! Just keep at it and I'm sure she'll be potty trained in no time. :) |
YAYAYYAYAY Bella- We have ALL felt that pride :) when they finally "get" it :) and at 10 weeks too!!! good job! |
yay, that is awesome!! that's totally how i feel about jackson right now. he's only 9 weeks, and while he hasn't gotten to the point of really letting me know he has to go (besides sniffing) i take him out every time after i take him out of his crate outside and he always goes and is so happy to receive his treat! it makes me a proud mommy! no accidents in the house in 2 days! except one pee but it was on the pad! lol congrats! |
:bravo:way to go Belle !!!! :bravo: |
Good girl Bella! She is an outstanding puppy to 'get it' at 10 weeks. All of mine (all males) were at least 6 mos. before I saw any enlightenment. And Baxter took the longest at 9 mos. So congratulations to mommy and Bella. :good job: |
Good job Bella! I wish my Rudy (12 weeks old tomorrow) was as smart as you :) |
Yah!! Big kisses for baby Belle Good Girl ! :p |
Thanks you guys :D Belle went to the stairs again twice but we did have 1 accident already today so far. Not perfect yet  |
Congratulations! I have to disagree with you, it IS a big deal ;):):) Every little step and every little success just leads to more. That joy and pride in your little one for "getting it" is priceless. I love the training process, and there have been moments in each one of my babies growing up stages that I get tears because I'm so proud of them, lol Keep at it mommy, she will continue to surprise you and make you proud ;););) |
She hasn't went to the stairs since yesterday :( and we've had 3 accidents today...we always have more on Saturdays since she isn't gated in the bathroom for half of the day. I'm going to try to bell train her. I've bought a bell like the ones that restaurants use in the window when food is ready. Know what im talking about? The problem is, she's afraid of it. I've been trying to get her used to it by ringing it a few times. She'll take a treat off of the top of it but if I ring it she runs away and barks from afar. and she HATES when i take her paw and make her ring it. So....I'm not sure this is going to work out. I just want an easy way for her to tell me she needs up the stairs to go potty. |
