Well things were going good for a couple of weeks.. i was using the whistle and a muzzle.. when she started i blew the whistle and stoped her dead in her tracks even after the fight started.. and that was the only time the whistle was blown.. now i blow the whistle and she ignores it .. like she never heard it .. so i have to break up the fight if i dont catch it in time and then i muzzle her for about half hr.. its working, but today out of the blue bam another attack...... it only seems to happen when im around , and i obviosly cant stay away and precious will look at me as she's mounting peanut and i yell precious NO ! and she will look at me and then go at it ! i just dont get it .. but im hoping i can still fix this !! |

My 2 girls Pixie and Roxie will attack Cali who is bigger than them but very docile, I have started using the whistle and will take Roxie since she is the one that seems to be the more aggressive one and pick her up and look her in the eyes and say be nice. When Pixie and Roxie foght it sounds much worse but they are more evenly matched and they bith seem to like to play like that. The fighting has lessened some lately. I also find playing with Roxie and Cali together burns off some of Roxie's energy. I hope you can get some relief, it is scary when they fight. |
I can tell you from experience that Muzzles will not work. I tried that with my Chattie and Chizzie. They got into a fight and the muzzles came of. :( |
I can't judge what's going on without seeing it first hand But you might be worrying about a problem that isn't really there If one of the dogs is getting hurt of course there is a problem but my two boys wrestle and play fight all day long and if you'd ever hear them you'd think - oh my God they're going to kill each other But I can tell when they are playing and when it gets too rambunctious I feel like my Dad ... when I say Uh oh Somebody's gonna get hurt! ;) And I stop the action You can tell if there is a lot of yelping going on Yelps ... are a signal to a dog You've gone too far If the other one doesn't stop at that point that's a fight and it has to stop |
