aggression issues .. Im still struggling with these 2 girls of mine .. I was just wondering if any one else has/had agression issues with thier yorkies between them and another dog living in your house or outside of your house ?? I really am at my wits ends here.. things are good for a little while but bam out of no where its chaois again ! I feel bad for the one that gets attacked she just wants to hide and the other one roams the house like shes queen ... and the other one is just so playful but is now afraid again to come out and play .. i muzzle the aggressive one when I sence a fight begiing .. i take her away i correct the behavior .. i just feel bad.. i love them both but i just can not control the aggressor! I have a dog trainer scheduled to come after the beginning of the year , im hoping that helps ALOT.. I just never thought these tiny little yorkies would be such a handful! Alone they would be great dogs ! together they are horrible and they are sisters.. i thought that was a good idea?! .. Im seriously debating giving the aggressive one to my daughter , shes very lovable and friendly very cuddly and such a good dog .. as long as Peanuts not around .. and peanut is the one I wanted.. but took the sister because no one wanted her and i thought ,great a play mate! Shes been everything but for about a year now ... I feel horrible i love them both sooo much but i feel like one is taking away from the other and as my other daughter puts it .. they arent even pets .. and its sad but true cuz no one can play with them or sit with them because Precious is always anxious and ready to pounce! unless shes the center of attention... then Peanut gets ignored and thats not fair to her !!!! UGH!!!!!!!! Any way sorry for rambling but I was just curious as to other peoples yorkies ... I feel like mine is the only one who behaves this way :( Thanks, Noel |
I understand your problem I have two boys myself They're still very little but they do get rough sometimes But you need to remember ... dogs are pack animals and they always need to know where they fit in the hierarchy of things Your girls are fighting for dominance but constant fighting can be stopped if YOU have made yourself the Alpha dog If one is constantly picking on the other YOU immediately go to the instigator and push her with two fingers and say NO! Best to get her when she is stalking or when she is growling before they are at each other My boys are just 10 weeks but I know that its coming I already hear their play sometimes end with a high pitched squeal when somebody gets hurt  |
i'm honestly not sure what to tell you. i just know all female dogs i have ever been around have a tendency to be that way. but you would think if they were blood and raised together, it'd be different. i had a golden retriever and german shepard, both female, and they hated each other for the first month and then grew to love each other. when the one died, the other was very upset and died shortly after. i also lived with my cockapoo and when my uncle moved in with me for a little while, he brought his siberian husky, both females... and my little dog was more an issue, thinking she was the boss and would constantly try to nip at the others feet and stuff. but eventually, they both helped each other out a lot in the end, and began running around outside together and loving each other... and then my uncle moved out. but to be honest, my cockapoo didn't seem too upset, even though they had become friends! haha! but otherwise, i'm not sure what to tell you other than good luck! and personally, i wouldn't want to live with dogs like that, they're just not enjoyable. but maybe give them some more time, and definitely try the trainer. |
thanks Im tryin to be the Alpha .. boy its tuff !!i had 2 mini schnauzers i raised for 14 years and never ever came across this !! I will try the neck thing and Im always watching and waiting .. I just have to wonder if it ever gets better ?! and definatly the dog trainer !! Thanks for understanding and trying to help... |
