Does anyone have any Dog Training books they live by? Hello all. Since I am going to be getting my very first puppy soon, I want to be as prepared as I can be for all that is to come. I thought about getting a book to read about general Yorkie information and training. Does anybody have anything they reccomend? I would definitely appreciate any suggestions! |
I read everything about Yorkies that I could find in the library. They were all extremely helpful if you don't know anything about Yorkies. However, if you do, they can get kind of redundant. By far the best training book I have read is "The Loved Dog" by Tamar Geller. Check it out! :) |
Thank you so much! I will definitely try to find it! |
Good Owners, Great Dogs by Brian Kilcommons and Sarah Wilson is one I recommend to a lot of my friends. It isn't a breed specific book, but it really has a lot of good insights into the canine mind and how to train a dog in a positive and respectful manner. |

What you want to do is build a relationship based on trust so anything by Pat Millar, Karen Pryor, Messlia Alexander, Pam Dennison, Paul Owen oh ye his book the puppy whisperer as well as the other one of his are great. JL |
