Barking... K.. Im crate training Trixie and shes doing really well... But she barks and barks her little head off when Im not down there with her... Is this normal cause she is in the crate alone? When Im down that way she is fine, but when Im not, shes barking ALL the time! |
She may not like being alone. Have you tried the pennies in the soda can trick? When she barks, shake the can. The noise is most annoying and hopefully she will stop barking to avoid EVER hearing that noise again ;) |
Do you just heve one dog? Do you have a cat? Yorkies really like company so this usually helps. |
So this Can and pennies trick works? My Chanel only barks at people when she doesnt know them. Then she stops after like 15 minutes or less. But when I walk her outside, she runs along the fence and barks at people, even ones accross the street. But its not bad. I mean isnt it good that she barks at strangers? I mean i wouldnt want just anyone picker her up u know.. But one thing, if she on the bed and i am doing something and not paying attention to her she gets up on her rear legs and barks. But i suppose its to get my attention and play with her. so i guess i dont have a barker. But we will see when i start to put her in crate this weekend. |
Pennies in the can I use the pennies in the can whenever Maddie would do something that was a big no-no (usually a shrill bark that could pierce my eardrums). It helped and within a week she would bark like that anymore. I still have the can and sometimes the sight of the can will settle her down. |
I spray my yorkies with a spray bottle when they bark excessively. You dont have to keep spraying them one spray does the trick for me. They always get the message and stop barking. My dogs are barkers and this has really helped. They arent confined at all but if they were they would bark. |
