Shes Chewing the wall! Hello all, My Effie went through phase about 4 months ago, where she tore a hole in my wall while scratching and biting. I fixed it with plaster and kept a box on the wall. I decided to take the box away, thinking she had forgotten about it, but last night she was going to town on the wall, and before i had realized what she was doing there was another hole, in the same spot! Ive heard to rub Jalapeno pepper on the wall, which im a little uncomfortable doing, I would hate to have an allergic reaction! Someone else told me to put black pepper on the carpet. Anyone have a safe remedy to get her from chewing on this particular part of the wall? She has plenty of toys to chew etc... she also has a favorite part of the carpet she likes to scratch at. Many thanks for and adivise! Thank you :) |
There is a spray you can get at petstores, call bitter uck or something like that. Never tried it myself. |
It is bitter apple. Might work! |
My babies do this also. They eat the wallpaper off the wall. Want to kill them. I tried the spray from the pet store did not work. Thinking of trying the pepper thing. :aimeeyorkCOCO :aimeeyorkPEBBLES :aimeeyorkTRIXIE |
Bella does the same thing! I'm afraid to leave her alone for 5 minutes. I've tried the bitter apple but if she's not using her mouth, she's using her nails:). She also does the same thing with the carpet and eating the carpet pieces. I've been covering the spot she likes but I would love to just make it stop. Any suggestion would help. Also, I was told that if the paint has lead in it...it's normally a sweet taste and that's why they like the eating it. :confuse8: |
Soooo does Bella have fuzzy poos???:D |
I'm not sure what you could put on there to work, but you could also try a bone or bully stick to keep her occupied for a little while. |
My Rocky loves to chew on anything & everything....hubby & I were thinking of trying the bitter apple....Rocky especially loves chewing my rugs in the bathroom & the door stoppers. Not sure why though, he too, has plenty of things to chew on! |
