Kolbe is marking Everything!!! He has an appointment to get fixed this Tuesday, but I am praying that the surgery will fix this. He has done really good with house training and we got to where we could leave him out in the house if we were only going to be gone for a few hours and he would have no accidents. But now he goes out to pee and he comes straight in and goes for the corners of the couch. Not sure what set this off but it is not fun!! Just wondering if anyone has experienced this and it did work or not? And he is very hyper, will this calm him down at all? |
My boy Jersey was completely house trained - and then the girls came into heat. He marked everything including the girls. I finally got a belly band for him, and we have lived happily ever since. Hopefully having him neutered will change all this. If not, I'd recommend a belly band. Good luck. |
How old is Kolbe? The best way to stop marking is to never let it start. Neutering males before they start to mark, by six months old, is recommended. Neutering him now may or may not help. Hopefully, you'll be one of the lucky ones. If not, belly bands will save your sanity. |
:2omg::2omg:Now with the belly band does it stop him from marking on stuff or does it just catch it? I just really hope the surgery fixes this, we have a 2 year old that is in the process of potty training and we are almost done with the diapers, that will suck to add diapers to Kolbe!!! |

He is 8 months old, he stared lifting his leg outside 2 months ago. But he just started this inside 2 weeks ago when our friends come over that just got a new dog. He walked over to her shoe and peed right on it!!! |
Peeing on everything Tico was the exact same. Almost trained where we could leave him in the house for a few hours with no problem. And then.... Tico started pissing on everything but our kitchen sink. So like you, we got him neutered, and BANG!!! Back to normal, and even better. He stopped marking. Held the pee. and it has been getting better ever since. |
The belly bands catch urine as he is marking. (line with a pad for absorbency). For many males, the feel of a wet pad against their belly deters them from marking in the first place. It takes a little while but they catch on. I have lot's of belly band choices on my site and I offer free shipping to YT members. ~Lorene |
