Accidents Everywhere!!!! Soooooo... Gabriella Lani is Pee Pad trained almost, and she has been doing great for the past two weeks...But!!! The past two days she has been peeing all over the house!!! As soon as she gets out the Xpen I take her out, sometimes she goes soemtimes she doesn't...But once she comes back into the house--its where can I go pee now!!! And only on the carpet... Hiro went through this too! He did SO good and I thought I was SO blessed (and amazing) for training him in like a week! Yeah... not so much. He was good for almost two weeks! No accidents, no nothing! Then one morning I got up and there was like 3 or 4 places he peed (none of which were on a pee pad) and some little poops sorta smeared on the floor where he pushed them around.... at that moment I was glad I penned him in the kitchen. Ugh. Aaaaaaaaaaaand that day I got a book and started crate training. lol I wouldn't let your baby have full run of the house! Keep them somewhere that is easy to clean until they earn more freedom! They have the rest of their little lives to terrorize your house - I think it's worth giving him a strict schedule for a few months of their lives! (And it will keep you from pulling your hair out!) :D |

If you are taking her out and she is not going potty and saving it for inside on the carpet you need to put her back into the Xpen and take her back outside in 20 minutes or so. You are allowing her to have accidents by letting her have access to your carpet without going potty. |
Peeing We have Tico who is a year, and just got Lilly who is 7 weeks, so we have started all over again. I would say for sure, don't let the puppy out of your site. When Lilly is out. I have to watch her constantly, and I mean not taking my eye of her for more than 5 seconds. If I don't feel like watching her, she goes in the x pen, on the lino floor. So at least if she pees or poops, its a fairly easy mess to clean up. We don't have much carpet in our house, just in the one bedroom. I keep her strictly out of that carpet area at this point. She is the same way. Likes to piddle from time to time. |

I think the other posters are right. You HAVE to get her to go outside, or put her back in her pen. Find a "code word" like "Pee Pee" and use the same word every time you take her out. Go pee pee... go pee pee. When she does go, give lots of praise and a small food reward. If she doesn't go outside, back in the x pen with a pee pad. I would not let her out free until she gets it. Good luck. Positive reinforcement really worked for us! |
You do need to set a limit of 5 minutes (even that is too long) and if they do not go you need to bring him back into the house and back into the xpen. Then after say 20 minutes back outside for 5 minutes. Lots of praise when they do make potty outside but still right back into the house. If he goes he can stay out for a short time but still back into the xpen if not totally monitored or he will sneak pee. The time out of the xpen should be longer and longer without accidents. You can even give a treat after with the praise. If you do this you ned to give a treat outside right after the potty. If you wait until you get back into the house it will be too late and he will associate the treat with coming into the house and not the potty. |

Well... believe that it doesnt get too much better..lol. Some pick it up a lot easier than others. Meka's almost 1 yr and 6 mo's and she still has accidents from time to time. I pad train her as well... The key to it is keeping your pup on a strict schedule. What I mean by that is making sure that you take her out 30-45 min after each meal. Its good to get her use to a phrase..like "go potty" or what have you. And when she does what she needs to do... praise her, praise her and praise her again..and a treat helps too :) She'll get it... Just have patience and always keep an eye on her. Until she's fully trained, it will help her and your house to keep her close... Hope this helps :D |

Sooo, yeah, yesterday and today I have been going straight from the xpen to outside then the xpen again. I xpen during the day, as soon as I get in from work we go directly outside, she peed and I had a huge pee party....Then she came in the house today, on the carpet playing and 5 minutes later she pooed!!!!!:(:(:( I put her straight back into the xpen, and she had a time out....I want to play with her but I am getting discuraged because I don't want to clean pee and poo up everyday off my carpet...I am going to continue trying the xpen outside thing, so we will see...:confused::confused: |
Are you feeding her on a regular schedule? You should be able to predict her pooping needs. Set up a potty command for poop too. Also, exerting your dog pushes the poop down the chain, so maybe you need to run her around a little bit outside on poop runs. That may be why she pooped on the carpet while she was playing. On the bright side, she looks absolutely adorable and TINY in her pix! Her poops must be pretty tiny too. :D |
