Training for a "hair do"... Starting out from scratch here with my Lily, a YOUNG Diva of 3 1/2 months, who doesn't like to sit still to let me brush her :doghop: :confuse2: -when do you suggest "attempting", AND HOW , to place bows in her hair? Lily's hair is getting close to where I could probably get a cute little bow placed on her. I'm not sure how long she would allow to keep it in, but want to get her accustomed to them. I HAVE LOTS! I need some tricks of the trade here - HELP :yorkietal |
I would start getting her use to having a band in her hair and then add the bow. Sometimes they don't like the feel of a bow on their head. I trained Cali to sit still while I did her topknot by saying Bow time and giving her treats afterwards. It really is just practicing and training them to sit. |
This site has some great tips on getting a puppy use to a bow, and also how to keep a bow in place using two bands. Casual Way to Put Dog Bows In |
Thank you ladies! Yes, Patti, I need to start some "basic training" as well. "Sit" for a cheerio... tee hee? She's so energetic! I'm going to check out the web site right now, Nancy. Lily just comes off as a tom-boy more than anything - but I'm going to work on her... |
