? about agility training Ok, I've decided that I want to try some agility training with Lil Bit. He's a smart guy (aren't all yorkies!) so I'm not concerned about the actual training. I have some questions about the equipment, tho. Like, which one should I start with? I've seen several that look like fun and I'm thinking the hurdle might be an easy one for starters. I also thought maybe the weaving poles or the see saw? I saw a "pause table" too and guessed that was for showing? Should I limit training to one piece of equipment until he gets that one down or is it ok to try a couple of different ones? I know someone here will be able to point me in the right direction cuz I've always gotten great advice! Thanks!!! :) |
Jumps and weaves are pretty easy and the table is nice just for training in general (I love the on/off commands, so useful!!) Anything like the A frame and teeter are harder because the dog has to have a lot of confidence to do it. Do you have a class you can sign up for? We did rally and it was a lot of fun! |
If you are going to do agility make sure you have a vet check. Making sure that the body is done growing and in shape to do it is important. Then when the all clear is given go have fun. JL |
