Peeing on the floor!!! Tico doesn't not want to pee on his pee pad, but he will poop on it almost 100%. He is a year old now. Here's what I do when I catch him peeing in the wrong spot. I say"tico, whats this" I put his nose towards it, not directly in it, just close enough for him to smell. I then take him to his pee-pad. At this time, i also have cleaned up the pee with a napkin. I put the napkin on the pee pad. Put his nose near it again, and say good boy. I leave the pee'd napkin on his pee pad. Then I put him in his dog crate, as he has never pee'd there. I put this in our room, where he is cut off from people for about an hour. Any suggestion, what I could do differently? It is obvious, this method I use is not working to well. |
I think the signals of where to go versus where not to go are confusing him. I would use a firm "NO!!!" instead of "What's this". Then carry him to his pee pad, assuming it just happened and say "here". Keep it simple. I would not use isolation in the crate. |
I did with Twinkle what bildio suggests: a firm 'No' and then put her onto the peepad. This only works if u catch them in the act, otherwise they dont know what they're being told off for. This technique worked for me, but maybe someone else has some other suggestions for u to try. Good luck....I'm sure your little one will get there in the end!:D xxx xxx |
